As an adopter of the National Industry Standards for Homeownership Education and Counseling, CLA provides group homeownership and financial counseling classes to low to moderate income individuals. Classes offered are geared toward: setting goals, budgeting, using credit, preventing foreclosure, and much more.

Debt Management

Now that you're ready to become a homeowner, the R.A.D workshop is designed to help you become a savvy homebuyer. This workshop will cover topics like steps involved in purchasing a home, calculating closing costs, the benefits of an escrow account, tips to avoiding foreclosure, and much more. There will be local professionals (lenders, real estate agents, home inspectors, appraisers, and insurance representatives) who will speak about the steps involved in the home buying process.
Standing on Your Own: Blueprint to Building

Online Homeownership Training Course
Duration: 1 hour - Available
Cost: Fee
In this online training course you will learn about credit repair, recovery budgeting, and common issues that lead people to financial crisis. In addition, you will learn the steps involved in the home buying process and foreclosure prevention. Scholarship waiver available for those who qualify.

Foreclosure Prevention Class
Duration: 2 hours

This class will help you identify the financial options and services available to homeowners who have defaulted or are in danger of defaulting on their mortgage. Other topics we will discuss include budgeting and avoiding foreclosure rescue scams that prey on homeowners facing foreclosure. We will also answer questions you may have about avoiding foreclosure.
